We were also pleased to attend a meeting of various actors in the world involved in pro-bono services to refugees where we briefed them about the situation of refugees in DRC.
The same day, we attended a Public Conference on 30 years of wars and impunity in DRC which will bring together the Noble Price Dr. Denis Mukwege, the Opposition Leader Martin Fayulu and the Government Spokesperson Patrick Muyaya. Briefing meeting with refugee leaders in Kinshasa and also Civil Society Meeting on the National Dialogue, this meeting could not take place because we failed to secure a free venue. We are still looking for places where we can get a free place in order to discuss with refugee leaders.
On the same day we attended the African Union ECOSCOC meeting on displacement and movement in Africa, the meeting observed the necessity to provide accurate information to young people about opportunities related to migration, to advocate for free movement in Africa and create opportunities to young people. While the discussions were focused on visa and other restrictions, Kulihoshi Musikami Pecos noted that more efforts should be oriented to fight against poverty among young people in Africa through various initiatives, poverty is the main problem because those who cannot travel are the poor young people. Even in the Democratic Republic of Congo young people cannot travel within the country because they are just too poor.
