Miriane Kizimini is a young Congolese leader committed to governance, the environment, and youth participation. A lawyer by training and a lawyer at the Kinshasa/Gombe Bar, she has dedicated her professional career to the promotion of human rights, climate justice and the empowerment of young people and women.

She is currently the Global Representative of Young People Who Live and Depend on the Earth on the Board of Directors of the International Land Coalition (ILC), based in Rome. In this role, she participates in the development of ILC’s youth strategy, budget monitoring, and resource mobilization for youth-led initiatives around the world.

At the African level, she is the Communication Officer of the Youth Initiative for land in Africa, Yilaa

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, Miriane is President of the Kalamu Communal Youth Council and represented Congolese youth in the Political, Administrative and Legal Commission of the National Assembly during the 2022 electoral reforms.

She has also worked as a consultant to several international institutions and NGOs, including the International Republican Institute (IRI), UNICEF, the National Land Coalition (CFN-DRC) and the Youth Initiative for Land in Africa (YILAA).

An ambassador for climate and democracy, Miriane campaigns for the participation of young people in decision-making bodies and for the restoration of land for the benefit of local communities. She has represented the DRC at numerous international summits, including COP16 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) on the fight against desertification.

Passionate, dynamic and rigorous, she combines legal expertise, environmental leadership and community involvement. Its ambition: to build a generation of young changemakers capable of contributing to sustainable, equitable and inclusive governance.
